Trying to get through a day, a month, a relationship, a job, a good time, or a terrible place, you can do it. You’ll need to truly perceive your past (good, bad and ugly). What is that? Pictures, old text messages, dreams, meditation, or simply being as aware as possible. After perceiving, you’ll also need to manage your understanding of the past. It’s one thing to recall something, it is another thing to be able to incorporate it into your peaceful “today”. Your ability to live a calm and aware life requires that you come to grips with your past. Look closely, don’t shy away, accept what has happened and, then, let it go.
People are in a constant state of aggravation about their future. They are caught in the whirlwind of worry about the unknown to themselves and the people they love. There is a strong and healthy link between your past and future. By shedding light upon, and managing, the past, you’ll have a better ability to successfully decrease your stress about the future.
Today, the present, is the harmony you seek to allow for the past, and yet not dwell in the future. Harmony is the “link”, a state of existence for you to enjoy every day of your life. The direct relationship between managing your past and planning for your future is to live your life, and manage your expectation, in the present.
